Speakers
Mena Ogbuehi is a Master’s in Galleries and Contemporary Cultures student at the University of Westminster. She is interested in researching all things museum related from collection and research to exhibiting and curating.
Yashmin Harun BEM is founder of the Muslimah Sports Association (MSA), and has been involved with sports her whole life. She founded MSA after struggling to find a safe space to continue to participate in sports while also aligning with her beliefs as a Muslim woman.
Laura Owen will be chairing the discussion. Laura is a freelance oral historian, project manager, and heritage consultant currently based in London, and is currently managing all things Newham Heritage Month!
The East End Women’s Museum is England’s only dedicated women’s museum, and preserves and shares stories of women from the East End. Newham women have played a huge role in sports, and we will be bringing these stories to you in this panel discussion.
